The public association "Central Asian Association of Ophthalmologists" was created on February 15, 2023.
CAAO participates in the development and implementation of professional standards, clinical recommendations, teaching aids, and adaptation of international standards. Actively conducts educational events.
Subject and goals of activity: The main goal of the Public Association is to create the most favorable conditions for the activities of its members, coordinate their activities, ensure the protection of their rights, represent the common interests of members of the association in state, non-state and international institutions and organizations, federal, regional and local authorities and management, in court , arbitration court, increasing the efficiency of medical organizations providing ophthalmological care to the population.
The mission of the society is to create the necessary environment for the work of specialists in the field of ophthalmology, increase the level of professionalism, protect their rights and interests, as well as the comprehensive development of ophthalmological science.
The main subject of activity is :
(in accordance with the Law “On Non-Profit Organizations”)
- Ensuring coordination and interaction of its members in order to effectively carry out the tasks facing them regarding ophthalmological care to the population and the development of ophthalmological services;
- Representation and protection of the interests of members of the association in local, federal and regional authorities and management;
- Coordination, if necessary or at the request of any of its members, of mutual interests and development of recommendations in the most important areas of medical activity in the field of ophthalmology;
- Development of strategy and tactics, development and implementation of practical measures to ensure and improve professional and scientific activities, social protection of the rights and interests of its members;
- Active introduction into medical practice of advanced technologies in the field of ophthalmology, information on new methods of treatment, achievements of ophthalmological science and other related disciplines, progressive experience of medical organizations in order to improve the quality of medical care for the population;
- Development of international relations in the field of medical activities, interaction with international ophthalmological associations, public organizations of the CIS countries and other countries;
- Providing assistance to government services for quality control of medical ophthalmological care;
- Providing assistance to ensure the rights of citizens to receive quality medical care;
- Providing assistance in improving training, advanced training and retraining of ophthalmologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Informing the press, radio and television about current problems of medical activity in the field of ophthalmology;
- Popularization and dissemination of knowledge about the main pathologies of the organ of vision among the population.
